What are the WSH Performance Awards and SHARP?
The WSH Performance Awards (WSHPA) recognise companies with strong workplace safety and health performance and management systems. The Safety and Health Award Recognition for Projects (SHARP) recognises individual projects and worksites. Both are part of the WSH Council‘s annual WSH Awards.
Applicants that use the ConSASS or WSHMS checklist need an audit by an SAC-accredited WSH Auditing Organisation, and must score at least 70% for Band III. Some applicants are exempt, for example those already certified to SS 651 or with a recent qualifying ConSASS audit. CCIS conducts these audits.

WSH Awards audit questions
Which applicants need an audit?
Applicants that use the ConSASS or WSHMS checklist, unless the guidelines exempt them, for example applicants certified to SS 651 or with a qualifying ConSASS audit. Please refer to the WSH Council’s guidelines for the current year.
What score is needed?
A total element score of at least 70% for Band III on the ConSASS or WSHMS checklist.
Can the same auditing organisation audit us every year?
The same auditing organisation can audit a company for up to two consecutive years. A different one must be appointed for the third year.
Can our safety consultant or certification body audit us?
For SHARP, no. The auditing organisation cannot be the applicant’s certification body or safety consultant. Please check the current guidelines for WSHPA.
Can we apply for both WSHPA and SHARP?
Yes, as long as each application meets its own criteria.
