How long is bizSAFE valid?
Levels 1 and 2 are valid for 6 months and cannot be renewed. Level 3, Level 4 and STAR are valid for 3 years, or until the related external certificate expires, if sooner.
When should we renew?
Apply to renew Level 3 and above two months before your bizSAFE status expires.
Who can conduct the bizSAFE Level 3 audit?
The Risk Management Implementation Audit must be done by a WSH Auditing Organisation registered with MOM. CCIS is an SAC-accredited WSH Auditing Organisation registered with MOM.
Can the same firm guide us and audit us?
No. To keep the audit independent, the firm that guides your risk management cannot also audit it. CCIS can do either one for you: guide your implementation, or conduct your Risk Management Audit.
Can we go straight to bizSAFE STAR?
Yes, if you meet its requirements. You can apply directly for the level you qualify for, and Level 4 is not required before STAR.
Is OHSAS 18001 accepted for bizSAFE STAR?
No. Since 1 April 2021, STAR needs an accredited ISO 45001 certificate, or SS 651 for the chemical industry. Non-accredited ISO 45001 certificates are not accepted.
Is there funding for the bizSAFE courses?
Yes. The Level 2 and Level 4 courses are eligible for up to 70% SkillsFuture funding for eligible participants.
